The days of big, bulky tape recorders have come and gone. We still transcribe both from macrocassettes and regular cassettes but 95% of what we transcribe is from digital files. Digital recorders are now under $100 with many different models and manufacturers to choose from, including Sony, Olympus, Panasonic and many others. They come with computer software, USB cable and instructions and are portable enough to fit in your pocket or purse, ready to be taken anywhere. They also come with a noise cancellation feature, which removes background noise. If you need to digitally record telephone interviews, you can purchase telephone microphones for this purpose at your local Radio Shack or electronics store.
We accept all forms of digital files from all manufacturers. Ask the salesman to help you find one that best suits your needs. Purchase the recorder, record your audio files, upload them to your computer or directly into our secure server. We'll take it from there. The sound quality in these little recorders is excellent and the clarity is amazing compared to the old tapes and cassettes of the past.
